Missoula Urban Demonstration Project

Who We Are

MUD Programs

MUD Tool Library - Demonstrating sustainable living by sharing tools, resources, and knowledge, enabling MUD members to improve their lives and homes and become more self-sufficient.  Over 2,000 tools are available for our members to borrow.

MUD Truck Share - Demonstrating sustainable living by providing MUD members an alternative, shared transportation option to assist with personal projects and reduce the need for individual vehicle ownership.

MUD Demonstration Site - Showcasing real-world sustainable living practices and designs at our MUD Central location in a publicly accessible neighborhood setting.

MUD Sustainability Workshop Series - Educating through hands-on learning opportunities that encourage integrating sustainable practices into daily life.

MUD Events: MUD hosts community events celebrating a sustainable lifestyle throughout the year. Our most known include Missoula's annual Earth Day Celebration and 5K Race in Caras Park, the last weekend in April, and our Garden Party Fundraiser, a harvest celebration to support our programs.  In addition we host work days and mingles throughout the year, which provide some great volunteer opportunities.

What We Do

MUD promotes urban sustainable living through hands-on learning, resource sharing, and community engagement. We believe that education, demonstration, and celebration of urban sustainable living will create equitable communities and healthy ecosystems.
