Who We Are

Habitat builds homes in partnership with eligible local families. Each of our partner families who are selected to build and buy a home contribute 500 hours of “sweat equity” to help construct their home and the homes of others. Some of those hours are spent in homeownership training classes and special events, but most are spent on the construction site. Once the home is built our families sign a 30 year no-interest mortgage with our organization. Habitat works to ensure that mortgage payments are no more than 30% of the family’s income so the home remains affordable.

What We Do

Habitat for Humanity of Missoula strives to eliminate substandard housing in our area through education on the issue of affordable housing and the construction of new-build affordable homes in collaboration with our partner families. Habitat also fosters community integration by bringing together volunteers from all walks of life to build our homes. Hundreds of volunteers work thousands of hours each year side by side with our partner families.
