Who We Are

Botanic Garden Missoula is a non-profit organization of individuals who believe that the nurturing and appreciation of plants and flowers, trees and artwork is a gift that brings joy, peace and strength. It will bring these gifts to our community and will add to the cultural depth of Missoula. Our Core Values are:

- Promote Environmental Stewardship. Cultivate a sense of urgency for the stewardship of our environment.

- Conservation. Conserve rare and endangered plants and their ecosystems to preserve biodiversity.

- Enable Learning. Enable people to learn about plants as food/medicinal sources and their vital role in our lives and in the natural environment.

- Provide an Urban Oasis. Create a peaceful setting for people to experience beauty and the healing power of nature.

- Preserve our Legacy. Honor our heritage by preserving historic plantings and structures and developing a heritage of engaged volunteers.

- Foster a Visitor Centric Experience. Offer congenial gathering spaces to encourage a sense of fun and community.

What We Do

Our Missoula Statement:

Botanic Garden Missoula is working to create a botanic sanctuary that protects and showcases unique plant diversity where the public can experience wonder, enrichment, and wellness through nature and artistic beauty.

Our initial Concept Plan:

- Interactive Children's Garden including sculptures to climb and hands on activities

- Initial stage Conservatory including art/sculpture displays by local artists, a multipurpose area to include a wedding backdrop, a coffee cart to grow into a cafe, the conservatory building as a central feature of the garden that can be expanded as BGM grows and develops.

- A healing/meditative garden

- An everchanging, seasonal flower garden area including an initial native plant section
