The Clay Studio of Missoula

The Clay Studio of Missoula is a nonprofit community center for the ceramic arts. Our goal is to provide the general public with affordable access to high-quality ceramic art instruction. We strive to fulfill this goal by: 1) offering a wide array of ceramics classes and workshops to adults and children of all levels of skill; 2) providing local ceramicists with inexpensive access to studio space and professional quality equipment; 3) hosting resident artists from across the country who are able to share their ideas, experiences, and techniques with our students; and 4) holding exhibitions of contemporary ceramic works and representing an array of regional ceramic artists in our gallery.

The Clay Studio offers a variety of services to make the ceramics arts more accessible to our community! Some things the Clay Studio offers are:

• A yearly membership program which grants affordable access to professional grade ceramics equipment to local artists.
• Classes and one-day workshops to teach clay techniques to adults.
• A free afterschool program for kids which operates partnered with Missoula Parks and Recreation.
• Affordable monthly all-ages workshops designed to get family and friends making together.
• Kids camps to get youth more involved in ceramics.
• Free outreach activities for people of all ages to engage in the ceramic arts outside of the studio.

Our outreach program is intended to raise awareness about the studio and help direct interested learners to our classes, as well as to provide a fun clay opportunity to under-served populations outside of our studio. Additionally, our outreach table collects donations to fund itself, with any additional proceeds benefiting the Youth Scholarship Program and/or our free After School Program.
