On November 11th, local climate expert, Nick Silverman, will discuss current El Niño estimates, what that means for Missoula and what it means for the state. Silverman will also discuss what aspects of our climate have and have not changed over the past few decades.
“Cold weather is a hot topic for Missoulians,” said Coalition director, Karen Knudsen. “A good powder year makes for sweet days on the slopes, but snow levels also have a direct impact on our rivers come spring. We invite folks to join us in keeping an eye on the sky so we can be better prepared for effects on the watershed, whether it’s heavy, early runoff, or another long, dry summer.”
We will also be discussing the Clark Fork Coalition's need for snowpack monitoring volunteers this winter.
This presentation is from noon to 1:00 pm at the Clark Fork Coalition office, 140 South 4th St. West in Missoula. It is free and open to all! Contact katie@clarkfork.org for more info.
