Job description
Are you passionate about horses and helping others? We looking for dedicated volunteers to assist with equine-assisted occupational therapy (OT) sessions. In this unique and rewarding opportunity, you'll work alongside occupational therapists and horses to help individuals with various physical, emotional, and cognitive challenges achieve their goals.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
        •       Assist with setting up therapy sessions
        •       Lead horses during therapy sessions (training provided)
        •       Support therapists in implementing therapy plans
        •       Maintain a safe and positive environment for participants and horses
        •       Help with grooming, tacking, and basic horse care tasks
Volunteer Requirements:
        •       Must be at least 18 years old
        •       Attend a training and observation session
        •       Comfortable around horses (previous experience is a plus but not required)
        •       Able to commit to a regular schedule (weekly or bi-weekly)
        •       Willingness to learn and follow instructions
        •       Compassionate, patient, and reliable

Other Important Info:
        •       Schedule: Tuesdays 9:30-5 and Fridays 8-2
        •       Time commitment: 2-4 hours per week within these time frames
        •       Location: 1270 Trotting Horse Lane Missoula, MT 59804

Trotting Horse Therapeutic Riding is dedicated to providing equine assisted therapy and accessible recreation to Montanans in need. During Covid, we also expanded our services to teaching beginning riders of all ages. Our services include, but are not limited to: -Equine-facilitated mental health -Accessible outdoor and physical recreation for all abilities -Youth & Adult education in grooming and stable management, riding and groundwork -Services in human growth and development to serve wide ranging audiences for educational purposes such as: leadership training, team building, and other human capacity enhancement skills for the workplace and daily use through equine interactions
