Who We Are

MUD Programs

MUD Tool Library - Demonstrating sustainable living by sharing tools, resources, and knowledge, enabling MUD members to improve their lives and homes and become more self-sufficient. More than 3,500 tools are available for our members to borrow.

MUD Demonstration Site - Showcasing real-world sustainable living practices and designs in a publicly accessible neighborhood setting including bee hives, water catchment systems, pollinator gardens, and a small urban orchard.

MUD Sustainability Workshop Series - Educating through hands-on learning opportunities that encourage integrating sustainable practices into daily life.

MUD Events: MUD hosts community events celebrating a sustainable lifestyle throughout the year. Our most known include Missoula's annual Sustainability Fair and Earth Day Celebration, usually the last weekend in April, and our Garden Party Fundraiser, a harvest celebration to support our programs. In addition we host work days and mingles throughout the year, which provide some great volunteer opportunities.

What We Do

MUD empowers people to build a more sustainable community through tool sharing and hands-on learning. We envision a connected community where sharing tools and skills is second nature and every person is empowered to take meaningful steps toward a sustainable future.
