Who We Are

We provide emergency care, vet care , housing care, PLUS  help and support those dogs being relinguished and or abused, and fundraise all the time to provide these things.   We teach and instruct our community thru in'services, , etc. to offer a good knowledge base for the care of these rescued hounds by ourselves or anyone in the community.  Our mayor John Engen picks our winning raffle tickets when we have our fundraisers.    we Every dollar goes to the shelter for the care of the dogs currently in Houndie Homestead.    Please do click on our website for a very comprehensive informational site as to who we are and how we operate.

All adoptions are only after a completed Application for Adoption and an ADOPTION AGREEMENT.   We care deeply about our Bassets and where they end up and we try to be very helpful in every way so the new family along with the rescued dog will live a now happy and loving life.   At times, hardships take over and a Basset needs to be rehomed and we understand those needs, too.

aCurrently we have no fundraisers.  This late spring we will start another.  Selling tickets in the foyer of Rosauers is always nice.   Love to meet the community of dog lovers.

What We Do

We are a full service 501 (c) 3 non profit rescue organization for the Basset Hound Breed.  Our Mission Statement and Bylaws are seen on our website and/or can be emailed to you upon your request.  Also, we are registered on GoldGuidestar.   I, Leslie Ames, manage the shelter and remain as our President of Basset Rescue of MT>  We have a few very dedicated people helping who live back East and in Texas and Georgia, Mt. and Missoula and Polson, MT> but in need of more.

We save, we care for, we assess each dog in every way: psychologically and physically. We  offer love, training, and  compassion to those in need......and after assessments are complete , we try to find the best home suited for that hound.

Although we keep up with our website, the FB is not our cup of tea. Please contact us via email or phone. .

Sincerely, Leslie Ames.   R.N. A.H.T. RETIRED.

NOTE: We are looking for other Basset Hound experienced person/people who LOVE THE BREED TO HELP TRANSISTION THE shelter to another place. If interested or comments please call.  406-207-0765
