2015 STATE SUMMER GAMES, May 19-22

Have you always wanted to volunteer with Special Olympics? Are you looking for a short-term volunteer opportunitiy that will inspire you? Well now is your chance! Special Olympics Montana is looking for volunteers to help in a variety of positions over the course of the 4 day event. Most activities will be centralized on UM's campus, but a few such as Kayaking, Bowling, and Gymnastics will take place off campus.

Centered in Missoula and the surrounding area, special events and competition – including local bowling, aquatics, kayak, cycling, track and field, and golf venues, the 2015 State Summer Games unfold in a swell of intensity and joy.  Athletes work hard to get to the Games. Following eight weeks of rigorous training, they are ready to demonstrate their skill in intense competition. They will not disappoint!

Excitement includes:

♦ Fanfare events such as Opening and Closing Ceremonies ♦ Three days of great competition in 12 sports ♦ More than 1,000 athletes from all over Montana ♦ Team celebrations such as the traditional dance and carnival ♦ Team dinners out, courtesy of generous local restaurants and organizations ♦ The energy of hundreds of local students who adopt Special Olympics teams from across the state ♦ Hundreds more volunteers who help shape every phase of the event ♦ Sponsor support that wraps the celebration with kindness and generosity ♦ And so much more ♦
