The Clay Studio of Missoula Outreach booth always makes an appearance at Holiday Made Fair to bring some clay fun to the cheer of this fair of incredible handmade goods!
We'll be doing our simple Raw Clay Birdfeeder activity to help support overwintering birds during the chilly winter! Volunteers will help kids make a simple sculpture to decorate with lots of birdseed! Kids are supposed to take home their artful bird snacks and set them in places where overwintering birds and rodents might find them, such as at the base of trees. Placed near a window can be great for budding birdwatchers. The clay is safe for birds to consume a bit of as they pick for their seeds, and stimulates natural foraging instincts.
This activity is fun, quick, and easy. Volunteers are encouraged to come for one or more hours to make bird feeders with passing little ones!
Holiday MADE Fair takes place in the Adams Center on the campus of the University of Montana. The Clay Studio of Missoula booth will be located with other nonprofits: in years prior, these have been located at the box office near the entrance. Location will be updated once a venue map is available.
