It is a Clay Studio yearly tradition to bring an accessible kids activity to Out to Lunch at Caras Park! We have our outreach booth stationed beneath the Bear Tracks bridge, a great cool spot right near the stage to enjoy the music and make a little clay project with kids (and adults too sometimes!).
We're making a "raw" clay activity called Sprouting Sculptures! This is an easy and low-pressure way of making something fun and ephemeral with clay. Because it doesn't require firing, it's super easy and quick to learn on the fly, no art skills required!
We also ask that volunteers encourage visitors to take information about our classes and programs; it helps to remind guests that we're a community and educational center with affordable opportunities and scholarships! Volunteers do not need knowledge about Clay Studio programs, it will all be written out for guests to take.
Booth Location: At Caras Park, in the play area underneath the Beartracks Bridge
