Pulling Houndstounge in Greenough Park

  Missoula friends, please help! This nasty weed, houndstongue, is taking over Greenough Park. Every year the seeds, which are like little velcro bits, get spread out through the park. They attached themselves to our clothing, pet fur and, of course, the neighborhood deer. Now is a perfect time to pull this weed as it is still flowering and the soil is damp enough to easily yank it out. If you want to help, please join at the Greenough Park parking lot at 10 am this Saturday, June 16. Bring a large plastic bag and clippers, if you have them, and wear long sleeves as stinging nettle also grows in the park . Let's try to put a dent in this invasive species.
